Get ready for the sleeper hit of the summer! In keeping with their grand tradition of making action-packed videos, The Beastie Boys have delivered once again with the Spike Jonze-directed video for their new single, "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win," featuring Santigold. And this time, they're action figures.
As the scene opens on "The Continuingly Ill Adventures Of The Beastie Boys," the guys are going about business as usual, playing a concert with their pal Santi. Then, out of nowhere, a shadowy anti-Beastie Boys operative tries to assassinate them. Oh no!
I'm not going to spoil the whole thing for you, but you can sure as hell bet the Boys don't take this lying down. What follows is an 11-minute saga involving chase scenes, cheesy jokes, burning action figures, underwater explosions and one surprisingly helpful Yeti (??). Santigold gets in on the action as well, piloting a submarine and even water-skiing a bit.
Although the song recedes into the background at times, Santi's lyrics are actually very descriptive of the action: This gang of Brooklyn hip-hoppers are most definitely playing to win.
